These are all marketed towards men although I don’t see why they wouldn’t work for women too. The brands are all sustainable or at least working towards becoming more sustainable. They all have other coats and jackets also. I’ve just picked my favourites from each range.

Bamboo Clothing

Bamboo Clothing is my go to sustainable brand for all my workout gear but they also do some great winter jackets too. It’s produced with an eco down filling which is made from 100% recycled polyester. From experience man made insulation can be as warm as traditional feathers and down. It’s also water-repellant and has a hood detail. It comes in a few different colours and sizes up to XXL.


Finisterre

Ethical Coats for Men

Finisterre designs functional and sustainable garments that are made to last. This vintage inspired jacket is great for layering over warm clothes. It’s recycled, waterproof, windproof and breathable and comes in at £250. It is available in sizes XS to XXL.


Knowledge Cotton Apparel

Sustainable Winter ParkaThis parka from Knowledge Cotton Apparel is made from technical organic cotton mixed with recycled polyester. and is priced at €399.95. It’s available in sizes S to XXL. For more recycled polyester, try recycled fleece favourites.


Haglöfs

Black sustainable mens coat

Haglöfs are a nordic company specialising in outerwear for ski-ing and hiking. This jacket would be great for a hike or a trip into town in the colder days. The outer shell and the insulation are both made from recycled synthetic material. It’s both water and windproof, avaliable in sizes small to extra large.


Seasalt Cornwall

Sustainable Mens Coats

A waterproof windproof and breathable men’s mac made from textured organic cotton from Seasalt Cornwall. This one comes in sizes small to XXL and costs £150.


Save The Duck

Recycled Coat

Save The Duck are an Italian company with sustainability in mind; notably, this jacket is a recycled polyester fibre made from 50 plastic bottles. Together with being lightweight yet hardwearing, it guarantees waterproof and windproof protection. It’s €359, and in sizes S to XXL.


LangerChen

Sustainable Winter Coats

A beautiful  parka from Langerchen. The outer fabric is organic cotton and recycled nylon. The lining is made of a Lyocell jersey. The jacket is padded with a fleece made from recycled polyester. The hydrophobic finish is PFC-free. Priced at €329 and available in sizes S to XL.


Bleed Clothing

Sustainable mens coats

A coat from Bleed Clothing for the freezing days made from natural fibres together with recycled polyester. Moreover, it is fair-made and available in sizes XS to XXL. Priced at €299.90.


Superdry

Winter Coats

The puffer jacket from Superdry is made from between five and forty-eight plastic bottles. The puffer is a great way to keep warm throughout winter. And there are lots of vegan versions available like this one. It comes in eight different colours. It’s priced at a reasonable £130 and there is a longer version too.


Ecoalf

Sustainable Coats Eco

The Aspa short jacket from Ecoalf is super lightweight yet designed to keep you warm on colder days. Featuring a hood with elastic drawstring for protection from the wet weather, and handy front pockets with hidden zips. The innovative design is made sustainably from recycled polyester and padded with Primaloft. It comes in two colours and sizes small to XXL.
