Banning Wool and Blackface In The Fashion Industry.
Hello, how are you?
This week was spent exploring a bit more of my new city. I’ve walked for miles and found lots of lovely places. Yesterday I went to a camera shop and picked up an old point and shoot film camera so I can hopefully record photos of some of the places I find. A friend told me yesterday that there is a great secondhand shop in Berlin called Humana. It turns out there are no less than 15 Humana shops in Berlin! I’ll be kept busy exploring them this year!
Below are your sustainable fashion news and links for the week. The first link is one of the more ridiculous news stories. Online fast fashion retailer Boohoo this week claimed they were going to stop selling wool garments. This is because there are often reports of animals being mistreated in the wool industry. Funny that Boohoo doesn’t even sell wool garments. The fabrics they use are generally acrylic, polyester and other plastics. They reportedly retracted their statement a few hours later as you can see on the second link. Was it all a publicity stunt?
