Bluebells In A Vase

From The Garden

I bought this vase from a vintage shop in Berlin around two years ago. I can never decide which flowers to display in it so it sits on the window sill empty. However, I’ve had an influx of bluebells growing in the garden this year. They are everywhere! So I’ve decided to pick a bunch and think I’ve finally found a culprit to fill the vase.

Talking of garden finds,  I found the green bottle (in the background) buried half under a tree. I cleaned it up and it now sits with dried flowers in it. The white bottle is supposed to be used to store oilive oil. It was handmade in a little village in Croatia. I found it while wandering around one summer. I’m not sure if I’ve ever used it to store oil though, it seems a bit messy trying to decant it! So instead it stands beside the fire and is used as a vase.

I bought the spider plant when I moved to Aberdeen. It’s a failsafe option, I don’t think I’ve killed one yet.  A new plant is growing beside it, if anyone knows if I can repot the new baby spider plant then let me know. It’s taking on a life of it’s own!

It was only while I was inside again that I realised the bluebells matched my nail varnish. I’m currently testing out eco nail varnish for a post next week. This one is from Zoya. It’s actually described as wisteria purple. If you like the flower pictures, there’s plenty of wisteria here.
